Yo all,

I'm just interested to see what equipment / software people use for recording their mixes?

I currently use a Reloop Tape2, that I can plug into my mixer using the standard red & black phono cables. But i am thinking of changing my equipment & getting a XDJ-XZ but I've noticed they don't have a rec out...

I'm just testing the water to see what people use etc. I don't think my laptop is up to recording haha

...Is it now I should say I use VirtualDJ to mix? :P

I don't know what equipment to use, but always make sure to not record above -10dB if you intend to "master" afterwards.

And as long as you mic-in on your laptop support supports stereo, 16-bit and 44kHz (which I believe most mic-in ports have done since 2005), then it's good enough

Do you mean that you use your laptop while mixing and is not an option? I would dare say any pc post-2000 can handle recording a stereo input without a hiccup. Audacity(free)/Wavelab/Soundforge Audio Studio are all perfect options as far a software goes, if you don't already own some kind of DAW.

If you're looking for a portable solution, I've heard good things about Zoom recorders.
