my onedrive is at 95% full and i have a usb stick in the computer and irig connected, but when i go to recording time at the bottom of the audacity screen its says i have have 311 hours recording time remaining!
any ideas what this means, been working fine for many years, little blip now and again, but a reinstall normally does the trick... not this time tho.
is it time for a new pc.. ive had it for probs 6 plus years

if it says yo have more tha n300 hours of recording time, then this sounds more like your PC doesnt have the processing power to handle read and writes to your external drive at the same time as you do other things

yeah, those stats are very outdated by today's standard. (I'm on a 6th gen of intel i5, so i know how old it is XD)
If you still have storage left on your internal HDD, use that for editing, and then copy/save to the external drive after.

on my previous computer specs (an intel i5 2400), i couldnt use my USB cable from my turntable to record. it would create stutters all the time.
the same would happen when i recorded through speaker jacks if I was doing something at the same time on my computer.
I just noticed that it was the warning that mentioned the external drive, not possy2. 
But yeah, like I said earlier, I think it's related to too many other software/programs are on and are competing for the computer's resources.

closing any programs you dont need on at the same time should help a little too.
like any webbrowser.
if you have no intention of connecting it to the internet, turning off any antivirus program should help as well.
