I don't know if many people on the site are into thier classic cars but I though i'd start a topic on it & see what happens

I've got an 84' Ford Capri(you might have to check out the link if you live outside of Europe) & it's my pride & joy! Still only got 60000 miles on the clock & runs like a dream. I have to say, i'm a huge Capri fan & love to see these beauties cruising the streets still.

Has anyone else got or would like to own a classic car? What would you get?

I love classic cars & have been into them since i was little. Modern cars are so boring. I currently own a 73 VW Beetle which i'm giving a complete restoration. Spent nearly 3k on it so far & still a long way to go.

Good man spoox, I love those old skool Beetle's. You got any pics of it or anything?

You're right lilley, the muscle cars are awesome & would love to own one sumday but seeing as I live in Britian, the Ford Capri is the best i'll get I think, for looks anyway.

Let's get some links & pics in this forum. With this site being worldwide it's quite hard to picture some of the cars you're all talking about. Also with this site being worldwide, there must be sum selection of classics cars throughout the HHC.com members. Come on let's see them!

P.S. How do you go about posting a picture on the forum, all I know how to do is post links! lol

Yeah i got loads of pictures. They are at my parents which is where i keep it as i live in a flat & don't have a garage. I'm getting it back from the welders in the next few weeks so i'll take some pictures & stick them on hear.
The car itself was sitting in a garden for 11 years rusting away before i bought it for £50 back in March 99. I then sold the interior to a friend for his Beetle for £100 so i made some money on it. I didn't plan to use it anyway & it was in excellent condition. Spent around a grand getting panels a bits for it. The bottom 6 inches all round the car was rotten so after 2 grand of welding its looking loads better. I know its mad as i will never get my money back i've always been into Beetles so scrapping it was never an option.

good man spoox, looking forward to the pics mate. I know what you mean, sometimes it's just the passion of keeping classics alive & you don't mind not getting the money back. It's individual & rare & no-one else has it:-) I love all the old V dubs, especially the Golf's & Jetta's. In fact all German motors are the shit. Can't beat them in my opinion;-)

I haven't got any pics of my Capri yet mate but i'll get sum up asap. I've still got it covered, in my driveway & it's get's started every week. It's still need's a bit of work on one front wing but apart from that, it's minted mate! only 60000 on the clock. For a 26 year old car, that ain't bad goin. I've also got sum awesome 17inch RS alloy's but still need to get them sum tyres.

Looking forward to the pics mate & i'm glad someone else on the site loves classic cars as much as me:-) Good man

Sweet. Look forward to seeing the pics. Years ago my uncle had a 2.8 injection with a grey leather interior. It was the first car i did 100+ mph in :)

The 2.8 injection, what a car! It's the shape of the capri that I love mate. The huge bonnet, with the coupe style back. It's unbeatable I think

I agree. I quite often watch old TV shows from the 70s & 80s & think to myself how good it would be to walk down that street & check all those cars out.
One thing i've noticed with modern cars is the lack of chrome. Everything is all painted plastic. You get Silver, Black, White & Metallic Blue, Red & Green & thats it. Years ago you had Yellow, Orange, Purple, & all different colours. Modern cars have no character.

These are some awesome cars Brian. Makes we kinda wish I lived in America but I suppose the closest thing i'll ever get to a muscle car is a Ford Capri LOL. I see you put the 81 delorean in there as well. The looks of this car will never get old! what a classics. Beautiful car!

Cheers for the pics mate, i'd probably say my favorite is the 1970 pontiac gto. I love this car! one of my all time favorites! anymore you've got mate get them up. I could look at american muscle cars all day:-)

P.S. How do you get pictures onto the forum Brian?

I've actually seen a company out here that builds new deloreans (well old new stock =P). if I ever got one of those I'd have to put a flux capacitor in it

to put pics in a post type or hit the insert img button, and place the url of the image inbetween the brackets like so

[img]insert url here[ /img]

just delete the space between the / and the [

....and as far as Ford Capris are concerned, I had one, many moons ago -

....worst piece of crap I ever had.

It finally did us all a favour by bursting into flames at the traffic lights and dying.
