Am sure its happened to everyone whos hardcore, other people see it as a banging noise thats not music at all. It seems as if your the only person around who listens to it and i can't understand why people listen to Rankin or Cascada and claim thats better than hardcore! I live with my parents and they complain everytime i play on the decks!
Who else has had this same problem or is it just me?

Get it all the time. My dad complains about me going from playing Led Zepplin or Jimmi Hendrix to the "Boom, Boom, Boom", i tell him i've got varied tastes in music and that he's too narrow-minded.
My mate's just look at me funny when my Gabba ringtones blare from my phone and tell me "that's just noise". Then they're R&B or Pop ringtone goes off, and to me that's just mindless dribble 'bout "Baby, baby, baby", but i just tend to ignore them.
And some girl at work, when she asked me what music i was into and i told her Hardcore, said you need to be on acid to listen to it and it's too repetitive, when we'd just been in her car listening to "dollar, dollar bill ya'll" or some shite like that, but i wasn't gonna say owt to her. She's hot! 
But i think everyone who's into something different and against the mainstream get's it. it's just part and parcel of not being one in the gormless majority.

LoL See what you mean! Yeah, i listen to hip-hop/R&B but if you listen to every style of music, it is all in some way repetitive if you listen, all follow the same structure and most songs are about the same thing! I don't see how people tolerate everything else except hardcore, seems a bit stupid!
Yeah, i have hardcore ringtones and everyone turns round, its funny how many people are like 'WTF was that?'!!

lol, it's a brilliant feeling knowing that everyone thinks you're a dick for listening to a certain type of music. I just let it play for a bit longer than i normally would and think to myself how pathetic and narrow-minded people are.
I don't personally see how people can listen to most new Hip Hop and R&B. A lot of music genres are repetitive to an extent, but i've never heard a style so repetitive as the Hip Hop / R&B that's being produced nowadays. But that's peoples choice, most people i know tend not to pay music too much attention anyway, they just like to hear a nice melody and lyrics they can make out. Not distorted kick drums and angry synths lol.

if you wanna get a female into hardcore start them off with slower paces/relaxing tunes like "Save Me" - Darren Styles, chicks i think dig those tunes. Try playing some Darren Styles, some Hixxy, and a little Dougal & Gammer =p

When I'm in public I get a lot of attention when my cell's ringtone goes off (it's a snippet of the Brisk remix of Love of My Life). Everyone just has that "What the hell was that" look on their faces. I know my mom likes hardcore that's really, really happy and cheerful. My dad doesn't really like it at all. He'll listen to it for maybe a few minutes, but he gets tired of it and pops in some rock CD. All of the kids around here only like rock, metal, or country.
Argh... that's problem with living in the south.

yeah my mum always tells me to turn it down. None of the girls ive been out with have liked hardcore, they say i have weird music taste or that it is 'too much'
Altho, my ex made me listen to hed kandi in her car so she had to listen to hardcore in mine, tracks that she 'didnt mind' were:
Jappo and Lancinhouse - exlxaxl (neophyte and evil activities rmx) (haha i know its different from hed kandi
She really liked tracks like:
CLSM - Driveaway (off bonkers 16)
Anythin by darren styles because 'he is well fit'....apparantly
Gammer and Cat Knight - A new feeling
Clear Vu - I adore

I know exactly what you mean, every time I put on some hardcore my dad starts complaining and compares it to the sound our laundry machine makes. And well most of my friends think I'm crazy because I listen to hardcore, but hey whatever I still like it :D

Every single day I get it lol. So from my dad I normally get, " Hey Ben, is that the same song? Well it sucks." From my mom I normally get, " Oh thats a classic."
I have monitor speakers in my basement, so when ever I go down there and do my thing the whole house can hear it, so that annoys them too.
Some of the songs my parents actually like though. I know my mom REALLY likes Its Time by Harry H and my dad will always whistle Come Running.
My mom likes ****ing disco music and my dad likes Bruce Springsteen, so I crack on them all the time for it!

i think with parents... well especially mine because they are quite old and ethnic.... when they were young and listening to music they never heard anything like hardcore.... so of course theyre going to be like what the hell are you listening to....
i have both friends that do and dont listen to hardcore... my 2 best girlfriends dont, they listen to more mainstream sort of stuff, but thats ok because i like going to lame places too and getting pissed with my best friends and having a sing and a dance... but then obviously ive got my friends who listen to hardcore and when i go out a raving, i go with them.... i mainly listen to hardcore though... in my car and at home... oh yeah and i get that look when my phone rings too... like WTF was that... especially coz its so loud lol...... ham - detonate this sound hehe scares people sometimes with how loud it is.... oh yeah and one of my friends calls hardcore/freeform circus freak music lol....
