I currently smoke after a year off. I'm in the USA at the mo so im on Parliaments, but L&B or Mayfair usually! I prefer the lighter cigs!

lol my pop smoked from when he was 13 till he was about 86...
he's 92 and still going strong.
lol but smoking light smokes doesnt make it any better ur still breathing in smoke...

I dont smoke i gave up when pregnant with my last child Anna.
I feel better for it and havent had any bad chest pains since, it's brilliant not having to be admitted into hospital with breathing problems etc
And plus Stu dont smoke so hes not kissing a chimney.
Also its good for my kids cos they have seen me smoke in the past and dont like the idea of it and with 10 year old suffering with asthma its best for him hes not around second hand smoke.
Although when i did smoke i used to smoke outside the house any way.
Tell ya what annoys me!
Walking past pubs there all outside blowing out the smoke onto ya and you have ya kids with ya ew

As much as im pro smoking, that really does piss me off...Same with swearing infront of kids as much as im pro swearing aswell lol.

I smoke (lucky strike mostly)
and I'm getting well pissed off with this gradual restriction the governement is laying down on smokers on where you can still smoke.
I believe the smoking ban in restaurants and other eating establishments was a good idea but banning it from bars and clubs (which is going to happen real soon) is simply depriving me of a good part of the fun of going to have a beer with the mates.
the ever rising taxes on tobacco has got to stop as well.

TBH i'm all too glad smoking in pubs and clubs has been banned, and even if i smoked i'd feel exactly the same way. Why should other, non smoking, people have to suffer for wanting to have a good night out with mates? They want to go to a club to have a laugh and they're greeted by a wall of cancer. How's that fair?

My cousins (who are my age, and we are tight) both grew up with my aunt and uncle both smoking. They smoked in the house, in the car, everywhere, it didnt matter if they were around or not.
Seeing how angry they are now that they are old enough to appreciate how ****ed it is to be brought up like that - it really pisses me off when i see parents smoking in their cars with kids in there. I saw a woman seriously yesterday that was driving and smoking with a baby in the back seat. I mean surely thats just taking the piss.
I feel really bad when im smoking in a confined area with people who don't smoke... it isnt fair and it shouldnt be forced onto them.... so i totally agree with the ban on smoking in pubs and clubs....
BUT
in saying that, i really hate it when people who don't know me will come up to me and tell me that its bad to smoke. No shit sherlock you dont have to be a few strokes short of a masterpiece to realise that... but even so why the **** do i care about your opinion i dont know you? This old lady came up to me the other day and actually tried to take the cigarette out of my hand. Thats blatantly taking the ****ing piss... im 21 i can do what i want.
seriously, people need to mind their own business.

well, seeing as 95% of the people at my favorite bar are smokers it's really pissing us off.
The bar in question is rather small, very confined but (believe it or not) never covered in a haze of smoke. Reason? : decent smoke-suction installation. Seriously, those things do a lot of good.
You see, I'm the kind of smoker that doesn't smoke at home, I feel no need to and it doesn't even occur to me that could light up when I'm going about my business at home, but when I go out and have a beer I NEED a smoke with it. It's part of the whole formula for me (and I've heard many say the same). Can you see that (whilst I know that it's a bit of a drag for non-smokers) it's a serious partypooper for me to have to go outside in the cold to smoke, probably not being allowed to take my drink outside either and having to leave (and probably lose) my seat.
From my point of view it ****ing sucks.
Now if they'd just make smoker and non-smoker section mandatory (in some cases it is already) I could live with that, with a decent suction installation it's the same thing but nooooo, the bastards gotta ban it all!
pisses me off, seriously.
They say smoking is anti-social whilst they're kicking all those who smoke out in the cold, how social is that?

Yeh it probably is a bit of a partypooper for you and other smokers to have to go outside in the cold for a cig, but it's quite a drag for too the people who don't smoke yet have to go home at the end of the night stinking like shit, waking up the next morning and their chest feeling ****ed and then there's the long term effects. The little stuff like cancer etc none of which would be any fault of their own, but oh well as long as your night isn't ruined

what i dont get about the whole smoking ban is this...
its ment to be public places & places of work thats banned from smoking... so, why isnt it illegal to smoke on the street? people work on the street every day, police, fire crews, ambulance people, council people... the smoking ban is a big farce, but, i do agree with it in big family pubs and restaurants... but ultimalty it should be down to the owner of the establishment and not the facking government!!
