So yesterday I went to summerfestival (a hardstyle/gabber festival with a small dance/elektro area) and I really wanted to see some dj's I like but every damn time I went to the hardstyle/gabber area everybody was looking at me like what the hell is this guy doing here, he doesn't fit in so lets kick his ass and it's just because I look a little bit different (most of the hardstyle listeners here look like chavs so yeah I don't wanna look like that). I ended up standing at the dance area almost all the time so I wouldn't get in a fight and get kicked out until I was fed up and just went over there and stood at the sides checking out Korsakoff and even then I was still frowned upon until I luckily found a few friendly gabbers (don't know if you call them that in english) who took me a little closer to the front and kind off 'protected' me. Now I'm wondering, is this the same everywhere or is this just my scene being a crappy scene again?

I'd say its kind of opposite here...I personally frown upon the chavs and i think any other people who consider themselves old skool do aswell. I would never kick off on someone because of this though....True i would probably get my ass handed to me by the amount of chavs that are at English raves now but still...Its not the point of raves is it lol.
That does sound pretty shitty though mate the fact that these guys were purposly trying to intimidate you, that kind of thing shouldnt be going on at any rave weather it be hardcore, gabber or whatever its not the point at the end of the day. If these guys want to go and kick off find a f*cking mosh pit lol.

Gabber & Hard style nights are very rare in my neck of the woods.
In my area they mainly play alot of Old Skool/Jungle/Drum&Bass ... Pretty Traditional UK stuff :)
but the good thing is at these local events i pretty much will spot 10-20 people i know including acouple of cousins.... none of them will cause any trouble.
But i do know (mainly through school) certain people who would cause shit... I have spotted certain people who i think would cause shit...
but pretty much it's united everyone buzzing away.
I beleive thats a reason why my town doesn't host gabber/hardstyle due to the current problem of these people you called 'Chavs' .... Who would come across as Arrogant & act in Anti-Social manor to people.
I suppose things are different in each country... FingazMc could talk to you all day about the holland gabber scene.

Well good to see that it's only here that we have this problem, might have to start going overseas if I wanna go to a good rave :D
