Howdo you get audacity to record directly from windows? I mean, I don't want to record from a mic (I don't even have one), I want to record the sounds as they happen in Windows. i.e. if a video is playing it would record the sound from it.
Help...

See the "Line In" dropdown? Just select something like "Stereo Mix", "What U Hear" etc. (name depending on your soundcard and its drivers).

Do you mean if your watching something like Youtube you want to record the sounds? If so you can use RealPlayer & when the video is playing a box will come up above it asking if you want to Download Video. Do that then play through RealPlayer & copy to disc.

Yea i used 2 do it like this, u can record anythin usin this program.
