Hey everyone,
Well ive got a problem. My neighbours want me to stop playing hardcore, just because of the continuous bass. Ive been told people can hear it 3 houses away lol. Anyways ive been asked to turn the bass down, so i did. Yet they still complain about it. Ive only got Logitech Z-5400's and the main volume isnt even on half.
Personally i think they want to get back at me, I played music at 6am once and now it seems they have a grudge against me and want me to get fined for the hell of it. Because ive been playing music at allmost full volume for 2 years and no one has ever had a problem with it untill now. They dont care about movies either....so wtf
Any advice would be appreciated. I really dont know how to handle this stupid situation lol

yeah unfortunately, i think you're gonna have to cut the bass.
i too - along with everyone on the site - is a bass junkie, i love the bass in hardcore!
clearly your neighbours do not, which is unfortunate. the 6am hardcore would piss me off too tho, in their defense.
the obvious choice here, to me anyway, seems to be to spike a friendly lemonade with a pill and invite them out for the night.
problem solved. :D
option B would be to just lose the bass and learn to appreciate another aspect of the music, when you're at home anyway...
Yea i think il just cut the bass, for a little while anyways. The guy that came over and complained, apparently he complains about everything to anyone. So i dont think the bass would even stop them complaining. Works for the shire aswell apparently. F***ing ******* haha

hmm isnt noise pollution governed by EPA or whatever equivalent you have of them? there are set levels that are allowed. if your under that level, you have no obligation to turn the music down.
want noise pollution? check this out

End of the day its all about being considerate to other people - imagine if you had to put up wth some idiot blasting out country and western all day - and particularly at 6am!
If you live in a building where others can hear your music then you should either turn it down or find a more suitable house.

Move your sub and speakers off the floor, basicallly bass will travel so if they are not touching the floor you will have less travel (more or less) through the floorboards.
Also buy a cheap DB meter, find out what is considered noise pollution, walk down the street to the complaining house, measure the DB from there, if it is less than the law, tell them you're not doing anything wrong.

My neighbors have never complained, and after playing the same tracks over and over for the past weekend... they still haven't said anything... and I played some of my 10 fav. hardcore tracks... over and over... nearly on max for my audio set up... at max volume... and I could hear it barely 3 houses away... with the doors open... only next door when the doors were closed. :)

Not sure what state your in, NSW seems to be 52DB? Not sure if that is correct, find out and you'll be good.
Sweet, Thanks for that Silver il check it out. Il definitly try and get a DB meter and measure it, Because ive been in this house for at least 6 years and never had a problem with loud music.
