one thing that i find amusing is that people say " you don't need drugs to have a good time, just go out and have a few drinks" when alcohol is the cause of soo much more death, pain, damage and destruction than ANY illegal drug.
one of the main problems with illegal drugs is that they are illegal, so their manufacture has no quality controls and they contain varied levels of strength and other impuraties.
no one will ever be able to remove these drugs from society, as long as people have existed they have taken drugs to experience something more than everyday life and that will never change.

if you bought alcohol from a dodgy guy in a back alley without a real idea of how strong it was and if it even really was alcohol it would be a hell of allot worse than ecstasy is.
if the government released a clean form of mdma available for purchace from a pharmacy or a police station i believe that would make the current situation better not worse.
in 2004, 100,000 "ecstasy" pills were being consumed in australia alone. EVERY WEEKEND. and that number is rising and rising.
now in the last year how many times did you hear on the news that someone died from taking "ecstasy" and how many times did you hear of a crime commited by a person who had taken "ecstasy". i can think of one death at the start of that year and that was caused by a tainted pill not MDMA and the person had been drinking. now compare that with almost everyday on the news someone got pissed and killed someone, commited some other crime or did something that resulted in their own death.
if MDMA were regulated by the government you can be almost certain that girl would not have died. there is enough proof over the last 100 years that prohibition DOES NOT WORK. not with alcohol, not with any other drug

but yeh 100 , 000 is pretty small number if you think abuot it. like consodering that compared to the aus population and how much alc gets consumed compared to E hence the low number on E death.
but on a diff note i think E is illegal cause it's more of a short term effect then alc which is a long term u know.
