Since about 2006 during christmas time this whole area where I live was lit up. It was really cool to see the hills so lit up. Although last year there weren't as many, and now this year there's about maybe 6 houses lit up with lights and deco including mine.

lots of people have their houses decorated in my neighborhood. one person has their own shortwave radio station setup up so you can pull your car up and watch the lights synchronized to music.

just sucks driving on that street when both sides of the road have people parked watching =P

you find the trend is suburbs with young familes, kids in primary school etc. our street used to be lit up like a defqon.1 production about 10 or so years ago

Lights up outside our house & most overs in my area.

In the Daily Echo somone mentioned how there are no lights down Ashley Road (Parkstone's High Street) in Poole but you see a good number of lights down the side roads & where there are houses. Drive through Arne Avenue, Grove Road & other council houses you will also see lights! Poole Borough Council have done nothibng for Parkstone & the town centre isn't that good either!

Bournemouth Council know the score though, lights can be see all around the town centre and through Boscombe, Westbourne, Southbourne, Springbourne (or at least they have in the past), Winton & mabe Charminster & Kinson but I havn't looked at these areas yet.

People are probably just trying to keep their energy bills down.

I felt like I was reading the Daily Prophet out of Harry Potter.
