social groups often end up in hate and even violence between the groups, something like "i hate you because you are different"
its better just be who you are, belonging to a group makes you stop doing things because "you are not suposed to do it"
for example goths and emos, they won't smile no matter how bad they want it, just beacuse "If I show a little happinness I will not be that emo" thats just crap

I'm not saying they don't exist. I'm saying you should have left that stuff behind you by the time you've left school. ;)
By not trying to fit in to a certain social group you will find yourself in a much larger one.
