I can never do homework with music, I always say "some music in the background wont hurt"... and there it goes 3 hours wasted and the paper empty...

Never listen to dance music as it's too distracting for doing paperwork. Sending Orbs releases some pretty amazing stuff for mood music though. They only release one album like every 5 years though.

I listen to music when I do all my work. I concentrate better when listening to music then when not. Because I focus on the paper, and the music drowns out every other annoyance.
When I do my papers I like listening to Old School Rave, or newer songs with Old School Rave influence. Or something with an Acid sound.
I find myself more then not listening to Funky House, Electro House, or something a little harder when I type. Don't listen to something like speedcore, because it'll only be annoying and making your brain try to find where the music lies in that crap.

I totally agree it really helps me concentrate. If I really need to concentrate on it though I whip out the really peaceful stuff.....
Chicane - Far from the maddening crowds
It's not hardcore (Couldn't be further from it actually) but it's seriously good. Really helps when you wanna right something deep like for an english paper or something.
