Well yeah, you'd have to be pretty desperate to take one out, but that is exactly who they are aimed at; people with poor credit ratings looking for a short term loan to see them over until pay day. If you have a reasonable credit rating then you would be better off having an overdraft to act as a buffer.
Loan companies get away with charging the extortionate APR because they are taking a huge risk on people with no credit rating.

thats the biggest ever APR i've ever seen. im pretty desperate for a loan but they can go and screw themselves.. my credit score is pretty ****ed to say the least

We have similar things here, one sms message and you get a loan. Though their making new laws to make it harder to get them now...

I don't really see the problem, they are offering you a service that no one else will give you, and at a very high risk to themselves. If you don't want to pay the interest then don't have the money, they aren't making you do it. They certainly don't owe you the service and nor does anyone else.

You agree to their terms, so they can charge you what the ever the hell they want.
It's a risk to you, and them.
Would you lend some one large amounts of money, that have bad credit, and not expect a pretty big come back from that?
Trust in business like this isn't earned, it's bought.
