Exactly. When I was little, I was scared of walking in New York City because the news made it seem like the most dangerous place in the world, when in reality it's a very fun place to be. I still wouldn't walk around central park at night though! That really is dangerous haha.
My dad said I should watch MSNBC though, since I never know what is going on with my country politically. My lack of knowledge of what is going on with my country is really pathetic to be honest.
Edit: I also was listening to some comedian and he said the newspaper he read in the UK had some big article saying "Last Night, Hooligans Knocked Over A Trashbin." Is this legit? Is the news that awesome?
you should see the news in wales.... no word of a lie you get headlines such as
"goat stuck on mountain, gets rescued"
and also they try to relate world popular news to wales...such as...."theres been hurricane in america"...and then interview 1 welsh person who was in america while the hurricane was passing over and then they just say sumin like "yeah it was scary and it was windy"........you get my drift? just ****ing plain bollocks news thats not even worth spending your time watching.

i used to enjoy the daily show - we actually get it over here now too..cant remember what channel though
never been fond on colbert - he always seemed/still does completely scripted - like he cant be funny himself..he just reads everything off a piece of paper handed to him by a few blokes who can write mildly amusing stuff
but yeah, i dont find political humour that funny anymore same stuff run over and over and over
