I like how it's sounding, but I personally think that that big-a-kick needs modulating itself with the bassline.
It sounds like a jumpstyle sort of kick.

Cheers man. Eugh, no. I hate kicks that move with the bassline lol. This is supposed to be more in style with the stuff on Bonkerz and Digital Beatz. In fact the kick is sampled off one of them. ;) Maybe I can tweak it some more to make it sound better though, will have a play.

sounds like a gabberline without distortion. That might be why it might sound like a jumpstyle kick

Yeah it's pretty much a mid way point between Hardcore and Gabber. I've tried adding more distortion but then it just sounds like I'm trying to make Gabber. :P

Wow, that's really nice! Has some good atmosphere going for it as well. Also, you're certainly doing a better job with mixing big kicks than I am haha.

There's nothing wrong with pseudo-gabber. :3

Me too. I can't even begin to describe how shit it sounds.
With regards to using 'big' kicks, i think the trick is to think of them as a main element of the song like a vocal, and make space for them as such. Otherwise you end up with a usual song but with a distorted kick in place of a normal one and it just sounds messy because there is no room for it. Imo anyway.

I hadn't thought about the Kick too much but yeh, Sami and Matt have made good a point.
The music of the track is good though. 8)

Thats a nice phatt freeform track The sound is rich which is what I prefer.
I think kick needs to be punchier or louder. I also think it clashes with some other frequencies during main drop. So I think you should optimize the mixdown a bit.

Haha cheers everyone.
I'll see if I can cut some more stuff out of the lead and bass to bring the kick to the front a bit more. I've done it with the low end obviously but perhaps it needs more low mids to cut through or something. On it!
