(big differences were that the mix and tracklists are at no point public, so that there is an element of surprise when the full mix was released after the two months). Only the last song of the previous mix was sent to the next DJ, so they never knew what had come before.

Good point. But since this competition / challenge runs one year now it will be hard to avoid playing the same tune twice.
I guess its good to have tracklists public now because of this matter
