I'm about 4 tracks in and it really feels like we have gone backwards: instead of the music getting better than it was in 2004-2008, we now have cheap productions that sound like they were made in Fruity Loops. I don't understand the positive feedback these tracks get on soundcloud etc. Who are these people? I certainly can't identify with them.
I would so much like to be swept off my feet again by the uplifting sound, standing there with a perma-grin on my face, shivers down my spine. But these tracks.. they just sound fake, immature, cheap, foreign to me. And it isn't just a simple case of habituation either: I still continue to discover new tracks from "the golden years" that evoke an amazing emotional response in me. It just paints a bleak picture for the future with no new similar music to look forward to.

Quality standards have changed in recent years I must admit. But, at least, we have an alternative to dubcore.

Yes you're right -- and I must admit there are a few interesting tracks later on in the mix.
