Did dinosaurs exist?
My naive mate thinks they don't but has no backing...
she says the skeletons are fake and because no one saw them they couldnt have been around...
Whats your opinion???
If you think the did not exist, then explain your reasoning.

this is a good thread as i have to question whether scientists (at this present moment) are just a wast of education.
i for one dont think dinos ever roomed the earth. they say some animals we have today are dinosaur decendents, ifso why didnt they get wiped out then?
all the bones and fosils could be for other things.
i think scientist just make a lot of things up to fill gaps... for instance, they claim they know how for the sun is from the earth, how? they cant get there or send anything there. its all just guess work

Every animal evolved from something else, so everything that has ever lived has been a descendant of something or another, as were dinosaurs. Smaller animals, like rodents, survived. Sea creatures, i think, survived too. Not everything was wiped out by the Meteor that scientists say hit the earth or Ice Age that followed.
Of course the bones left behind were from dinosaurs. Maybe they didn't look exactly as scientist put them together but come on. Do you think humans were the first ones to roam the earth and the jaws of a T-Rex were actually that of a very big mouthed caveman?
@ acidfluxxbass: Your mate's a retard lol. i've never seen a Tiger but i'm pretty sure they're real, never seen an Ancient Egyptian but i'm quite confident that they existed.

Because not all life got wiped out when dinosaurs did. For example, small mammals - our very distant ancestors descended from dinosaurs - could make it because they were small and reproduced fast. Dinosaurs were big, had enormous food requirements and were cold-blooded - just some of the reasons why they were basically goners when the post-impact "winter" came. Also remember that very few of them died in the actual blast - most died out gradually, it might have taken thousands of years (long time for us, blink of an eye in Earth's history).

well theres skeletons... and evolution.. mammals only survived the asteroid becuase they could burrow underground, swim, fly... so on.. they could also live in the new world as result of the asteroid. theres solid proof... the only margin for there not being dinosaurs are the minority who either deny, doubt or ignore solid evidence!

and yet people like Kirsty (my mate) dismiss all evidence of there ever being evolution or dinosaurs. She even said we were dropped on earth on mass by aliens and thats why the foetus at 12 wekks looks like an alien in the womb... at that point of the debate we ripped the f*ck out of her..

Not all life got wiped out - in fact I believe it was mostly land living dinosaurs that didn't survive. I suggest a bit of research on the interweb into the facts before slagging off scientists based on this.

/me shakes head. They used the world's largest tape measure to do it - the astronauts that took the shuttle to the sun didn't make it back alive, but they took the tip that started at 0, so once the tape stopped unravelling back on earth they realised that that was the distance to the sun.
