I haven't really thought about but it suddenly stroke me, what's the diffrence between a DJ and a MC? I see them making pretty equal tracks and doing the same stuff, but what is the difference?
What does MC mean, as I know DJ is "disc jockey"?
P.S. Don't hate me.

I remember an mc sitting down the entire time he was "performing" :D Was at the sanctuary a few years back upstairs. Think it was Man Parris. Sat on his arse mumbling a few inaudible words every few mins. :-/ Now that's entertainment.

DJ - Disc Jockey

A DJ is someone who selects and plays tunes for an audience. Mixing, scratching, partying, etc.
An MC is someone who starts rapping ******** to a song, effectively undermining any efforts by the DJ/producers of the songs.
^^ Gotta agree I never liked the Mic Corrupters!!! - 99.9% of them ruin the songs by rapping about nursery rhymes - bo peep has ost her sheep, humpty dumpty sat on a walll, hickery dickery dock.......arghhh!!

I've heard both Mic Controller and Master of Ceremonies given as what M.C stands for.
A lot of it is personal choice as to wether or not you like M.C'ing and, like everything, there are good ones, and bad, which again, comes down to personal preference.
A good MC can be a real focal point on the stage and help develop the atmosphere within a rave. A poor one can be so irritating you have to move on to another room.
Personally I think Sharkey is the best MC in the business and one of the few who can legitimately be called an MC, a DJ, and a producer.

Master Ceremonies is what MC stands for... IDK much of the difference between DJ's and MC's except I don't want to be an MC and I want to be a DJ. :P

depends on where you live.
in jamaica the dj is called a selectah and the mc is called the dj.
wrap your head around that one lol
its cuz they smoke so much ganj, they forgot which was which, then forgot one of them and came up with a new name, which was promptly forgotten as well, and then they came up with another new one.
personally i haven't heard any mc's live, but i think it's stupid for em to record it over tracks.
orbit1 released a showcase mix recently, and it had storm and enemy over it. sounded like shit cuz neither of em could even do it in tune with the track that was playing.
