clubland got you into hardcore? im not going to slate that at all - the commercial albums have a way of reaching people that hardcore wouldnt normally have reached. but you are the perfect person to ask
alot of people feel that when someone gets into hardcore through albums like clubland xtreame and MOshit albums, they dont look any further and just know whats in front of them..missing out all the hardcore over the past 10 years...
so since clubland got you into hardcore, have you ever looked back to earlyer happy hardcore from 1995 onwards? like the older bonkers, that sort of thing?
keep the year's comin people, its kinda cool to see when people got into hardcore :)

Yeah it was good old AATW that got me into hardcore! I always hated clubland but I loved dance music and I always liked the harder stuff that might reach my commercial ears. Then one day I just came across CXH and decided to get it and bam I was in love
Yeah I hear alot of people saying things like that and they're not wrong but I'm sure alot of people would not have got into hardcore had it not been for CXH. Truth be told I think it was only a matter of time before I found hardcore anyway but still I'm thankful to CXH for getting me here quicker like.
And yes I absolutely looked back on old stuff like the old Bonkers. I actaully prefer the old stuff. When I first got into hardcore I was actually completely overwelmed by just how much there was to catch up on. I own all the CXHs but as I progressed through hardcore I started enjoying them less and less and just moved onto other compilations like.
Like at the start I adored Darren Styles but now I don't really listen to him at all because now I much rather the likes of Darwin or Sharkey but had it not been for CXH I wouldnt even know their names know what I mean?
My opinion on the whole commercial hardcore thing is let the non-hardcore fans hear it, fall in love and find their own path through hardcore from there but don't bitch about it being to commercial, I hate that. If you don't like it don't listen to it. I think of the commercial stuff as a stepping stone really. Its like a midway point between clublandy stuff and hardcore. And I think alot of people would need that stepping stone or they would be completely overwelmed by the whole thing.

:) that rocks
i hope people take what you said to heart - its good to see that the albums do provide a stepping stone, and even better to hear from someone who took that route through hardcore
