don't know what good it's going to do complaining about it here, but i am just so depressed by my job and must vent.
i work at a liquor store, every weekend and holiday including my own birthday, xmas, new years...
the people i have to deal with just suck the life energy out of me.
i feel sometimes like i'm the only one who ever does any work there, and way more than my fair share and still only make $10 an hour.
i am SOOOO god damn sick of working there, i honestly consider suicide every time i have to set foot in there.
it just sucks so much, when i was a kid, i couldn't wait to be an adult. now that i'm here, i honestly feel like shit 95% of the time. i want more money at my job, but that's not going to do much.
i just hate feeling like this. i'm a hard worker, but does anyone notice? do i get remunerated properly?
argh. i'm just frustrated, that's all. and i wish there were other jobs, but there's nothing out there.
can anyone else here relate? all i can say is fu.ck this economic downturn that's going on. everyone is fu. cking cheaping out and charging more, and i'm the one left with the short end of the stick.
just makes me want to deal drugs full time for a living. at least i wouldn't have to put up with this shit everytime i have to go in to work.

I doubt the people coming in and out of your life if you were to deal drugs would make it better tbh. Old lady clueless as to where the pop tarts (or whatever you people eat) are, or big scary gangbanger holding a gun to my head for my drugs and money. Hmmm, what to choose :p
I get depressed - not quite as melodramatic as depressed but you get the idea - by my life all the time. I spend a few minutes every day wondering why im here? what's the point? do i have a purpose? what am i gonna do with my life? what's the point?
Then i get a grip of myself and carry on with it, my job is shit, my wage is shit, my life is boring on a whole, but things could be a lot ****ing worse. There's people who slave away in sweat shops for a week to earn what i do in a day (or less, probably i dont have any figures or evidence for this), children dying of starvation in 3rd world countries and being left to do so and i have the cheek to maon about my life?!
Its amazing what venting your thoughts on this place can do, tbh ive never really thought all this through till now. Things could be worse for all of us mate. Just remember that, remember the good things in your life and stop crying about it (only joking pal)

Thats true, and everyone always said that to "cheer up", but the fact is that if you feel like shit you probably wont give a damn about how f*cked are the others, you would probably hate you more because you cant value what you have...
life sucks must of the time, if not always, so suck it up, and carry on soldier!
if you feel too bad, well quit the stupid job, the WORST that could happen is that you became homeless, but at least you'll be free. (not joking)
although I dont work yet, I can relate, I feel down most of the time but I'm kind of used to it, its like part of me now, but from what I can perceive from you Vitalism is that your "depression" comes from the outside (job), and not the inside, so once you figure out that issue everything should be better.

I usually get pretty easily depressed, think its just down to geens or some shit. Had a pretty hard time last autumn. When the year changed desided to do something about it, started going out more and all that. Last month applied to a school to get another profession while still working (dont yet know if i got in). And desided to save money so i can go to a proper vacation in 2010 summer (been hoping that i could do a proper trip through Nordic, including Faroe Islands and Greenland. Though ill see if i can save enough money). My point is (if i have one), that change doesnt happen over night, you need to figure what you want generally, and steer your life towards it.
As far as your job goes, stick there untill you get something better (but do search for something better, dont be picky. Jobs that arent exactly your dream job, might still be a lot more fun then what you do now). Just remember that you do it for the money, so you can enjoy your freetime. I usually just think my own things throughout the day when i did a job that i didnt like that much.
My 2 cents.

i have 8 exams coming up within the next 10 days
i currently selling my house because we cant afford it
my family are split up, i never see my mum
i have no money
my girlfriend left me last week
and i couldnt be happier..
why are you depressed if you have a computer in front of you and you can read, write and are healthy? you obviously have SOMETHING going for you...
so stop complaining, someone ALWAYS has it worse than you, and they aren't 'depressed'

if u seriously hate the place that much and feel like killing urself every time u step foot in there, then leave. seems like all ur rant is focused on your job. and i kno that u got bills to pay and stuff and u need a job, but obviously this job is taking a toll on u. there are jobs ou9t there u just got to look for them.
i worked at a dept store for 5 years and honestly i did hate almost every minute of it. but i knew how to set aside my disgust for the job long enough to realize that i needed it to pay my bills and save $$$ for school. so if you can't seriously set aside your hatred for the job enough to realize that it does pay bills, then leave. besides i'm sure that ur coworkers find you an annoying twat anyways because it soulds like you would be the type of person to complain and whine about it to your coworkers. grow up this is adulthood we have higher responsibilities than kids now

Life only ever gets shite when you compare your misfortunes to others or if you live in regret. The way I see it, there's people living in thrid world countries and all we're doing is having a bitch and moan about trivial problems. It all might sound very cliched to most people, but I honestly think we're incredibly lucky. Get you're head down, work hard, and most of all have a positive attitude and you'll soon be reaping the rewards.

Precisely. You lot have nothing to be depressed about, your just ****ing spoilt, now deal with it.
If your depressed due to choices you've made in your life, then change them, it's really that simple (if you were ACTUALLY depressed you wouldn't be complaining about it). The only person who has control over anything in your life is you.
I was deliberately blunt there to get my point across more.
Anway, if your job is so bad that you want to commit suicide then the logical step is to get another job. Fortunately alot of them aren't that bad. At your age you can definately find another job easily. You can't honestly say youd rather be depressed in the workplace than try and look for another job.
I appreciate that you would be genuinly depressed with a job like that and i'm not questioning that, but what i am saying is that it is your choice to be in that position, and any other position your in. You don't HAVE to work in job you hate, despite common beleif. There is alot of jobs out there suited to different people. You just happened to find one of the shitty ones.
It's upto to you to make your life turn out the way you want it. If your not happy with the way you live that is because you chose it to be so. Nothing really 'comes' to you in life (unless your lucky), anything worth having is worth working for.
Someone made the comaparison with 3rd world country people; they would absolutely love to have all the choices and opportunities you have to live the way they want. You just need to appreciate that you have those choices/opportunities and ignore the way society thinks you should live.
If your clinically depressed well that's a whole different story and none of what i have said comments on that.
